If you can't make it 100% silent, store in a closet. Or behind the wall! Noise will not be tolerated! Laptops with dead displays make great headless servers, as my old Toshiba from high school will tell you. Plus as a bonus server feature, the battery keeps them on during a power hiccup! I'll probably be building this before they have another chance at besting Intel, too, so they are pretty much off my list... I like the idea of a quiet PC. A lot. All my previous pcs were too loud. How about a wifi enabled wall art SLASH rss feed aggregator? Kristin would never let me hang it in the living room though... I’m skeptical of AMD myself.
