Song #13 – I Proletariat. Kindof a departure. Electronics, sorta stream of consciousness lyrics… By the end of the song my voice was starting to wear out, so sorry its kinda bouncy and wobbly sounding. This is the kind of song that would need really tight vox I think, so in any real situation that would be fixed. Check it out.

What kinda ending does this song need? I don’t know. Any ideas? The typical matt good “add a new track each bar until the whole thing explodes” technique? fade out? or what? Alright seriously this one’s a bit different so let me know what you like and dislike about it. thanks for listening.

Running commentary…I like the intro a lot. In a real life setting throwing some effects on the main vocals could be interesting. This song makes me want to listen to it over and over because I can’t quite hear what you’re saying in the background sometimes.
LOVE the noise.
As far as the ending goes, I’m not sure what else you could do to the ending to make this explode, but that’s why you’re the superstar and I am not. Honestly I kind of like the way it ends.
This was really quite a departure for you, and I think it worked very well.

alrighty…
I really dig the intro part…i’d leave out the click sound. maybe make the beats a little more spontaneous and pan or something. create a feeling of vertigo sonically. i like the noise and how you use it rhythmically at times.
i’d change the beat during the chorus part or add something electronic to kick it up a notch…it seems to plateau and then not really build to where it could go.
the guitars add some cool stuff but i’d make them sputter more. i like the form that the song takes. it’s got a really cool feel to it and i think, conceptually, it’s got enough going for it that it deserves to be messed with.
lyrically, i like the idea of starting out stuff with the “I,——” motif. however, i think you might overdo it and it gets tiresome. if you turned it less into propaganda laden statements and more into a kind of story explaining a bit why proletariat, machiavelli, and pie…you don’t even like pie…would be fitting. you could tie it into the whole cosmonaut thing too. i was thinking the same thing for “drive”. if you’re going for a sort of unified theme with space and such you could maybe write about driving through an alien landscape or maybe a world destroyed by robots. something like that.
anyway…good job again.
Uh… I hate to be a kill-joy from all these other mofos who comment on your songs, but I really couldn’t get into this. Maybe it’s because I was expecting my Matty’s song of the week to be your usual folky great stuff and then you unexpectedly hit me right in the face with this… ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…. I actually didn’t even listen to the whole thing. My apologies. Can’t win me over every time I guess. What do you think I am, easy or something?
